To congratulate Jerrie, we would like to launch a very special call for donations.

June 1st is Children’s Day, and WAFW (World Academy for the Future of Women) supports this occasion with a yearly project.

Your contribution to the World Academy for the Future of Women Children’s Day activity will support the annual event on Children’s Day when they invite children to come to Sias University campus for a celebration.

This contribution will also impact a larger number of children and be used to support the World Academy Projects that address the needs of children through the year.
These include:

• The HIV-AIDS Project for village orphans

• The Left-Behind children who are matched with university students in our One to One Project

• The Leaders of Tomorrow Project that works with children in migrant schools who have poorer education opportunities

• The Literacy Project where parents bring their children and learn to read to them and expand their love for education

• The Sunshine Angels project where members go weekly to a special education school to teach children with intellectual delays and hearing losses.

The Children’s Day activity invites children from each of these projects to attend, but frequently they do not have resources for travel.

The aim is to have the children learn to grow up and be a global citizen by learning how to protect the environment in their community and the earth, as well as learning about different cultures and making friends with one another as a global family.

The children have an experience of being on a university campus and are encouraged to understand the importance of studying hard, staying in school and consider being a university student! They understand the importance of communication and teamwork through the activities and learning at Children’s Day.
