IPWS (International Professional Women’s Society) is a volunteer-run platform for dynamic women with diverse professional backgrounds to connect. Through our community and events, we build networks, foster personal growth, and develop professionally. We warmly welcome all professional levels, all nationalities and all genders as members to our organization and participants to our events.
The organization is fully run by a volunteer Board of Directors, Board Advisors, Committee Members, Interns and Volunteers. We are currently looking for three new Board Members to join our team of ambitious, dedicated women.

Community Development Executive
IPWS is looking for a Community Development Executive to help grow our brand and engage our community online!
The ideal candidate for this volunteer role has exceptional oral and written communication skills, and has an eye for developing engaging content. We’re looking for a ‘people person’ with great customer service skills and the ability to moderate online conversations with our community, particularly on WeChat.
As Community Development Executive you will:
- Act as the face and voice of the IPWS brand in the two IPWS Connect WeChat groups.
- Engage the IPWS WeChat community on a regular basis by sharing upcoming events, IPWS news and other relevant content.
- Encourage discussion and information sharing within groups.
- Build relationships with community members
- Help get IPWS listed in Events or Expat publications like SmartShanghai, That’s Shanghai, etc.
- Respond to WeChat group comments and queries in a timely manner.
- Help facilitate a dialogue and share upcoming event details with key partner organizations.
Additionally, as an IPWS Board Member you will:
- Attend monthly Board Meetings (one evening per month).
- Attend IPWS events and represent IPWS to the best of your ability.
- Take the lead with another Board Member in organizing one IPWS event per quarter, as well as assist as needed at other monthly IPWS events to the best of your ability.
- Organize the annual IPWS Summit and Women Leadership Awards together with the Board.

- You have excellent verbal communication skills, writing skills and interpersonal skills.
- Are outgoing and love to engage in positive, thought-provoking discussions
- You have an excellent eye for detail and are proactive, positive, ready to take action and work hands-on.
- Have experience in community development and social media management.
- Have native-level English language skills.
