Curating an online presence for professional branding is undeniably crucial, now more than ever before. On August 17, we hosted an IPWS workshop on professional branding on Linkedin. Participants learned how to use LinkedIn to move towards their next professional goals, improve personal branding, begin targeted job hunting, and share industry insights.
For this unique workshop, we were fortunate to have Jessica Gleeson, CEO of BrighterBeauty and Founder of Experiential Retail, and Marian Danko, Founder and CEO of weHustle, share their experience and best practices for building your personal brand on LinkedIn.
- Having a unique, consistent voice helps you create credibility and be known as an expert in the field.
- Identify your niche: where are you uniquely positioned to add value? What is your contribution to your field, your community, the world?
- Analyze your audience: Who’s looking at your profile? Why do they look, and when? What are they looking for?
- Define your content like ‘swim lanes’: core content areas, secondary content, occasional content, and off-limits content.
- Be mindful of your connections. Build a focused strategy for adding quality people and engaging in meaningful, respectful conversations.
- Make sure you fill out your entire profile. Be consistent with the use of keywords that define you and your work.
- Experiment with LinkedIn’s different content formats.
IPWS would like to thank Jessica, Marian, and all participants for joining us for this event. A special thank you goes to our supporting partner, A&Z Law Firm, for hosting the event!
