This year, we embrace the theme of “Courage”—a vital force that empowers women to act on their convictions, stand up for one another, and challenge the beliefs that limit our horizons.

During our season kickoff meeting, we’ll reflect on the past year with insights from our Year in Review and survey results, followed by an exploration of our theme for the upcoming season. We’ll also introduce our dedicated Executive Board and advisors, acknowledge our outgoing members, and highlight exciting upcoming events.

Our special guest, Summer Liu, will engage us with a Thought Activator session, diving deep into the question: “What Does Courage Mean?” Together, let’s ignite our courage and redefine our paths forward!

In an era defined by rapid change and uncertainty, courage has never been more essential. This IPWS event will explore the evolving meaning of courage, emphasizing how we can rise above fear and become our own heroes in today’s complex environment.

Our featured speaker will dive into three key themes:

Being Fearless: Fear is a constant, but it’s how we respond that defines us. Overcoming fear to challenge authority and push boundaries is crucial to progress.

Becoming the Superhero: Instead of waiting for a savior, we must become the heroes of our own stories. This involves standing up for ourselves and others, challenging the status quo, and supporting one another in moments of difficulty.

Daring for More: True courage means daring to take leaps of faith. By embracing innovation and taking calculated risks, we open up new possibilities and drive change.

In today’s world, courage is about challenging the familiar, breaking away from convention, and building a future with fearless determination. Join us for an inspiring discussion on what it means to be courageous in this pivotal moment.

About the Speaker:

Summer Liu leads Starcom’s Business Development team, dedicated to building an agency business funnel for sustainable growth.

Her career journey has always been centered around exploring new growth opportunities for businesses. Prior to Starcom, she served as the lead for Mindshare’s Innovation Center and was a brand strategist specializing in business and consumer analysis, as well as innovative solutions. She is also a corporate marketing expert, leading her team to win Campaign Asia’s Marketing Team of the Year in both 2023 and 2018.

Earlier in her career, she worked as a reporter for CCTV, a consultant at the United Nations in Geneva, a General Management Trainee at Mars Wrigley Confectionery, and held the role of Regional General Manager at a B-series education startup. Through these experiences, she has consistently demonstrated her ability to thrive in dynamic environments and drive meaningful change.

Summer considers herself a practical idealist. Graduating from the University of Chicago with a Master’s degree in Public Policy, she is passionate about social innovation and has participated in various pro-bono services since 2012. She believes in using business models to solve social problems and is committed to building a sustainable future.
