What is the IPWS Leadership Summit All About?

On May 25th IPWS is proud to bring you the IPWS Leadership Summit for a third year in a row. This event brings together leaders and influencers from all over the world and across all different industries for an afternoon of exciting talks, engaging content and excellent networking opportunities.

The event will feature a diverse lineup of speakers, and throughout the event the audience will take part in an interactive workshop that will provide each attendee with practical tools.

We asked women who attended the Summit in previous years to tell us about their experience at the IPWS Leadership Summit.

What was your favorite part of last year’s Summit?
2017’s Summit was filled with insights for me! The Women Leadership Award Winners were all passionate and trailblazers in their field. I felt so inspired by the winners and their drive, but especially loved hearing about their innovative forecasting.

What did you get out of the conference last year?
Personally, as MC of the 2017 Leadership Summit, I had never felt comfortable with presenting unscripted content … so the Applied Improv with Elva was absolutely valuable for my own development. Following the ‘Yes, And’ format of improv is so welcomed and I had a lot of fun ‘performing’ with Elva throughout the Summit.

Shanghai offers so many exciting events, what makes the Leadership Summit stand out?
The IPWS Leadership Summit has the balance between celebrating our community’s leaders, sharing broader & modern professional insights for management or teams but also giving actual strong advice or takeaways for individuals. I think Shanghai’s social scene is vibrant and fun, but only IPWS events gives you actual valuable work connections, AND helps you assess your career and equips you with ways you can evolve.

What was your favorite part of last year’s Summit?
Concise, thought provoking and impactful presentations. There was a great mix of speakers for attendees from all different industries and backgrounds.

What did you get out of the conference last year?
Met some fantastic inspiring women. It’s an amazing community and great to meet likeminded people. Sadly I’m out of town for this next one. I attended last year as I was a finalist too!

An environment filled with active and vibrate female leadership with a focus on development and needs in the China market.

Why did you attend the 2017 Leadership Summit & why are you going again?
I wanted to explore the subject of female leadership in the China market and how my employer, GM can learn and collaborate with IPWS.

Shanghai offers so many exciting events, what makes the Leadership Summit stand out?
The Leadership Summit focuses on Female Leadership and there is such a huge effort by IPWS volunteers and BOD members that it takes the event to the next level.

What is your expectation for this year, specifically related to the theme, Leading with Confidence?
Can we approach female leadership in more of a multi-dimension including psychologically and sociologically…? Let’s find out!

Three things that make the IPWS Summit stand out for me:

The innovative format: I have attended many summits, 100% of them are the same traditional format! IPWS stands out because they combine the inspiration of keynote speakers with the excitement of waiting for the announcement of the winners of the Women Leadership Awards.
The commitment of the Board Members: everybody in the board is so committed to make the Summit the greatest of the year, so they put all their heart and efforts in, and this is very visible to all participants of the summit. Every detail is set with love.

What was your favorite part of last year’s Summit?
I thoroughly enjoyed listening and learning from seasoned senior women who are also in management. Being a 31-year old professional managing a team of sixty women is challenging so it was nice to hear candid stories of what to focus on to become the best version of yourself in order to lead and inspire others.

Shanghai offers so many exciting events, what makes the Leadership Summit stand out?
It is a day dedicated to women empowerment and development. The women speakers at the summit shared true and honest glimpses into their lives to inspire authenticity in the next generation of women leaders. It is important for younger women to have role models; the summit was able to bridge that gap between generations so that we can all learn from one another.
