“Understanding Power & Leadership: A Roadmap to Success”
The 2017 IPWS Leadership Summit powered by IE Business School was held on Friday 2nd June, 2017 and provided a unique opportunity for the IPWS community gather in a modern conference setting to hear dynamic speakers, participate to innovative workshops, meet and network with China’s top female leaders and influencers.
Our 2017 Summit theme was “Understanding Power & Leadership – A Roadmap to Success”.
On the global stage, we’ve seen the United Nations highlight gender equality & women’s empowerment as one of the ’17 Goals to Transform Our World’ and many researchers point out Gender & Corporate Social Responsibilities as a matter of sustainability. Power is the medium to which we relate to one another, and while doing so creating value in a networked world. Society and economy are shaped by power, by whom participate and can affect change.
Power is ultimately about making a (positive) difference in the world and can be exercised through various meaning.
The Summit brings together the best thinkers & leaders in our community to continue these discussions. What does Power mean in the context of personal or professional leadership?
Through a curated agenda, the program provided opportunities for participants, women and men alike, to learn how you can seize POWER by identifying your strength, understanding your barriers, and persistently taking it.

Last year’s Active Conferencing consisted of a facilitated workshop based on the philosophy of Applied Improvisation where all Summit participants became actors in the effort to solve creatively a challenge.
The 2017 Summit also featured the Women Leadership Awards 2017, China’s longest-running international award recognizing women for its 11th year. Throughout the conference, we honored & celebrated the winners of the Women Leadership Awards 2017, and naturally ended our inspiring day with an exquisite After Party.
