The International Professional Women’s Society (IPWS) provides platforms for dynamic women to connect, build networks, foster personal growth and develop professionally. IPWS Board Members make a difference by working towards our Vision of connecting professional women and being an influential community in Shanghai and globally, based on our key values – Inspire, Grow, Lead, Connect and Embrace Diversity.
Have you got a personal passion for building and supporting a community of professional women? Maybe you’ve been a Mentor on our Mentor Walks program and keen to give back to the community? If you are interested in joining the IPWS Board of Directors, made up of dedicated volunteer IPWS members, please submit an application to IPWS President Tiziana Figliolia at president@ipwsconnect.com by Friday, July 8th. In your application, please briefly explain your interest, expertise and intended board function, as well as attach a recent CV. We will be in contact with you as soon as you submit your application. All open positions are listed below. The current Board of Directors will review all applications for open Board positions, meet with final candidates, and propose the slate of executives to IPWS members for confirmation in the fall.
To ensure the continuity and stability of the Board of Directors, and of IPWS as a whole, some of the current IPWS Board Members will renew their candidacy to serve on the Board for another term. This renewal is subject to approval by the current Board of Directors. However, some Board Members will leave us, and we are looking for enthusiastic new board members to join this dynamic group.
The new Board will work alongside the current Board during the summer for a smooth transition into the new membership year starting September 2016.

Marketing & Communications Executive
Help promote IPWS in our community and beyond! The Marketing & Communication Executives are responsible for shaping the positive image and branding of IPWS, coordinating with local publications and media, updating print and online materials, assisting as a liaison with other organizations, overseeing the compiling and distribution of our monthly newsletters, communicating with the membership about events and other news, advertising, and promoting a robust social media presence. Marketing & Communications Executives also work with our Webmaster in maintaining and updating the IPWS website.
Finance & Administration Executive
Help keep IPWS running smoothly! The Finance and Administration Executive is responsible for annual budgeting, financial reporting and monitoring, as well as the handling of our funds and ongoing payment transactions. She also helps to organize and administrate monthly Board meetings and events, among other duties.
Partnership Executive
Help IPWS maintain and create relationships with partners in the Shanghai community! The Partnership Executive is responsible for establishing community relationships, engaging partners in the IPWS program and events, negotiating partner agreements, and working with partners for special events.
IPWS Paid Marketing Intern
Gain valuable experience and meet professional women in our community, while supporting the IPWS Board! The IPWS Marketing Intern is responsible for assisting the Marketing & Communications Executives with all marketing functions, and will assist the Board throughout the 2016-2017 season. (Native English speaker).
