2021 WLA Representative Organizations

In this year 2021, IPWS is proud to be partnering with 7 representatives for each award category. These representative organizations and in several cases, individuals, have been chosen to represent a particular category based on their deep experience and connection with the award category.

These representatives have reviewed the respective award criteria and have worked together with IPWS to ensure the criteria and nomination requirements are suitable for each award. These supporting organizations and individuals will have the distinct honor to present the award to the winner at the Women Leadership Award Ceremony on May 29th, 2021 in Shanghai.

CEIBS – China Europe International Business School (CEIBS)

Young China Watchers (YCW)

YCW is a dynamic group of China-focused young professionals. Through regular roundtables and talks with senior figures in the China academic, policy and business communities, it provides a chance for engaged individuals to interact and discuss the most pressing issues emerging from China today. Through our growing global network, we seek to foster the next generation of China thought-leaders.

YCW was first established in Beijing in the spring of 2010 and has steadily expanded its network to 10 chapters including Shanghai, Hong Kong, London, New York, San Francisco, Berlin, Singapore, Brussels and Washington DC with more than 5,000 members around the world. YCW runs an open membership policy, keen to attract all China-engaged and knowledgeable individuals. Our purpose is to nurture a new community of people focused on and alert to China’s growing importance in the world today.

 

Entrepreneurs’ Organization (EO)

She Loves Tech

She Loves Tech is the world’s largest startup competition for women and technology, seeking out and accelerating the best entrepreneurs and technology for transformative impact. We champion the best entrepreneurs through education and mentorship, working closely with our partners to create a global ecosystem for women in technology. We believe that this combination is key to solving the world’s greatest challenges.

 

 

Stepping Stones

Stepping Stones is a non-profit volunteering organization founded in Shanghai in 2006, with a mission to improve the education and general welfare of disadvantaged children in China.

Stepping Stones trains and supports volunteers to teach English and digital literacy to under-privileged students at schools and community centers in Shanghai and rural China through volunteer visits and online lessons. We also provide training for English teachers. Our programs have a measurable impact on students’ skills as well as their interest and confidence in their studies, and help to optimize their access to a higher level of education and better work opportunities in the future.

 


Le Wagon

Le Wagon teaches people the skills they need to change their lives. Since 2013, through immersive coding bootcamps, we have been teaching Web Development and Data Science in 40 cities & 25 countries. The world’s most acclaimed coding bootcamp according to student reviews on Switchup and Coursereport, we have helped more than 10,000 kick-start their tech career, up-skill in their job, or launch their own startup.

 

Diane E. Long

For over three decades, Diane Long has had a ringside seat to what can only be described as an economic revolution.  Since 1985 Diane’s unique and diverse skill set was developed in the cauldron of a forever changing landscape as China marched forward with reforms at a scale and speed never before seen in history.

Currently serving as Senior Advisor at Xanadu Enterprise, a bilingual, bicultural boutique consultancy, she provides a range of consulting and operational services to support companies in various stages of entering and operating in the China market. Diane previously held C-suite positions in global corporations such as Liz Claiborne and adidas as well as executive roles in start-ups. She focuses on strategic planning, actionable insights, and operational execution prioritizing realignment and distribution of resources, while advising on sustainable best practices. Her breath and depth of leadership experience enables her to assist both first-to-market as well as established firms to build for success in China. The many years working across industries allows for understanding and explaining China in a multilayered context.

For over 20 years parallel to her business career Diane has been a leader in the community having co- founded five non-profit organizations responding to a variety of social needs. Starting in 1987 Diane was an early leader in the American Chamber of Commerce Shanghai (Amcham) including Chairman of the Board, Vice Chairman, Treasurer as well as establishing both the Sourcing and CSR Committees. Currently she is a member of the Nominations and Elections Committee (NEC).  She is the co-founder of International Professional Women’s Society (IPWS), the first community created to support women professionals in China.  She is a founder and on the leadership council for Mingxing Caritas (MXC), which has for over 20 years provided medical and educational services to disadvantaged children and adults. A past soccer coach and co-founder, she continues on the board of Active Kidz Shanghai (AKS) a not-for-profit public service organization which provides team sport opportunities for young people.  Diane was the founding Chairman of the Board for Community Center Shanghai. She is a graduate of Stanford University.
