Last year, IPWS was happy to announce a jury of six highly-esteemed individuals to judge nominations in the Women Leadership Awards (WLA) 2017. The jury – which included representatives from leading global organisations, including universities, multinational corporations and diplomats – oversaw the selection of top candidates across the six award categories in the WLA 2017. The WLA nominations closed on May 3, and the WLA Winners were announced at the 2017 IPWS Leadership Summit on Friday June 2nd, 2017 in Shanghai.
Every year, jury members are selected from a broad cross-section of industries and positions to ensure a well-rounded representation of professionals in the judging panel. Their role in business and society is also a reflection of IPWS values: to inspire, grow, lead, connect and embrace diversity.

Jury members reviewed all 2017 WLA nominations according to the WLA Criteria Guidelines. Following the review of all nominations, the jury selected two finalists for each of the six WLA categories, who were notified by May 14. On May 21, finalists were invited to appear in front of the Jury to introduce themselves and take part in a short discussion about their achievements. Lastly, Jury members deliberated on each award category and selected the winners.
Winners were announced and celebrated at the Women Leadership Awards ceremony, held as part of the 2017 IPWS Leadership Summit on Friday 2 June, 2017. The Leadership Summit featured relevant speakers and content focused on the theme: Understanding Power & Leadership: A Roadmap to Success.
